A study was done asking hundreds of people from all walks of life asking the question; would you be stronger if you knew what made you weak?
This study was done in America, Europe and in Asia. The people were young and old, rich and poor, some of them were college educated and some barley had a high school degree. The thing that brought all of these people together was that they all thought that that strength comes from addressing your weaknesses.
Marcus Buckingham in his book “Now Discover Your Strengths” says that being achievement is not the opposite of failure and that you will not achieve what you want by studying how you failed. The way to achieve greatness in your life is to learn from your past successes. If you study how you failed you will only learn how to fail. Focusing on your strengths is the best way to have a positive impact and be successful in any organization. Organizations that are successful encourage everyone’s own natural abilities talents to develop strengths and make the company even stronger as a whole.
The Gallup Poll Organization asked the following question of 198,000 people in 7,980 businesses of global companies: “At work do you have the opportunity to do what you do best every day?”
Of the employees that said yes there was shown to be 50% happier in their job and these companies were shown to have a higher percentage of happy customers. However only a small percentage about 20 % of the people asked felt like their strengths were being used on a daily basis at work. When your company needs help with learning how to help their employees find their strengths it is a good idea to hire a business coach.
The best way for a person to identify their best potential strength is to step back and review your way of doing things. Think about times when things have seemed to come easily to you, how fast you learned a certain activity. Do you enjoy doing some tasks to the point that you become absorbed and lose track of time? These are the clues to finding your natural talent. The tasks that are a chore and you cannot wait to be done with are the ones that you should avoid

Everyone knows that Bill Gates has a quite a bit of natural talent and a great amount of strength. He is without question a genius. This man has definitely taken advantage of his strengths creating and innovating personal computers he really changed the world. Mr. Gates understand his strengths and weakness so well that he had the foresight to hire another brilliant person to maintain his company and make it into the world wide corporation that it is today.
When we allow our weaknesses to hamper our strengths, this is the time that we should stop and look at what we are doing and figure out a way to have our stronger points help our weaker ones. It is important to remember when facing your own weaknesses that concentrating on them will only lead to failure. The only way around a weak point is to use your strong points to counter act the weak ones. In other words look at what makes you good at something and find a way to apply that ability to your weak point.
When you look at things from this point you will see that just focusing on your weaknesses is really irresponsible. The best way to be true to your talents and strengths true potential is to find ways to help them grow.
Everyone has had a moment of success and fulfilment in their lives, some of us more than others, some less. The true secret to living a happy fulfilled life is to find ways to have these moments over and over again. Remember they say practice makes perfect.
