Without any education from a Forex trading course, many new entrants into trading make the mistake of adapting their lifestyle to fit their newly adopted trading style which they probably got from a weekend seminar, a book on technical analysis or from a trading forum.
This creates a number of problems because the trading system may not fit the trader’s personality and lifestyle. This Forex training issue applies particularly to retail traders looking to profit from the market. When traders initially start trading a system, they must ask themselves some very important questions; some of which should take into account how much time he/she is willing to spend trading each day, week and month. This question alone will help clarify what style of trading the trader will likely use.
That is, they need to choose if they are willing to trade on a 5-15minute timeframe or will they be entering trades based on the 4 hourly/daily timeframe. As you will learn in your Forex trading course trading 4hour/daily charts allows you to only trade once or twice a day and probably hold positions longer than a trader who is trading a 5/15 min timeframe who is likely spend most of the trading day sat in front of a chart searching and waiting for trading signals.
Beside the timeframes which the trader trades, other commitments such as children, work (if not a full time trader), friends, wife, and general social life requirements will also need to be factored into the equation when deciding what style of trader to be. Someone with children for instance, may not be able to trade all day as trying to enter trades on the EUR/USD every 5 minutes; along with making breakfast lunch and dinner for the family, may lead to many the trader missing opportunities in the market or worse – making mistakes with entries that ignore rules learnt in a Forex trading course. The key to customising a trading system to fitting your lifestyle is to make sure that whatever the trader chooses to do, he/she continues the same trading pattern consistently otherwise this may affect the success of the strategy. This is why the issue of using a trading a strategy that suits your lifestyle; not the other way around; is addressed in a credible Forex trading course. If you do not approach this issue in the appropriate matter you may be bluffed to think that it is your strategy that is not working when in fact, it is your lifestyle that is not allowing you to trade in the way you have been taught throughout your Forex training.
